New Outdoor Seating And Pool – Patio Makeover Part 3
Hello friends! Can you believe July is already halfway over? This summer seems to be moving so fast, yet we are in the middle of some serious heat here in Tennessee and there are no signs of it being over anytime soon.
We planned for this by creating a nice outdoor area for our family, specifically for our kids to enjoy during these hot summer months. First, we added a hardtop gazebo which we have enjoyed having so much. We have no trees on our farm since it was pasture land previously, so the shade this provides is so welcome.
Next, we added a dining area underneath the gazebo which has been great for evening dinners and snacks throughout the day while the kids are swimming.
However, the space was a little lacking so we made some changes which I am sharing today. I also thought it would be great to also include the addition of the pool to our space as well since it was quite a project.

After I finished my YouTube video for the gazebo installation, Domi Outdoor Living, whom I partnered with, wanted to gift us an outdoor seating set for us try out and to enjoy underneath the gazebo.
Since the gazebo is rather large we were able to move the dining table to one side of the gazebo and create an outdoor lounge area on the other end.
We honestly didn’t realize how much we needed it until we had it. The space is now even more relaxing and it gives us more seating options.
The chairs are a modern rattan design but they still have that charming look that can honestly go with any style. The cushions are plush and really comfortable and they even come with these adorable patterned throw pillows.
They come mostly assembled. All that is needed is to add on the feet, which was quite easy and really fast especially with a drill.
I also love that they are a neutral color so it pairs with anything you may already have. Plus, the set is super affordable and comes with a 1 year warranty and free shipping. I hope to be able to enjoy this set for several years to come.
The next items we added to the back patio area were our Adirondack chairs from our last patio makeover at our old house. We really loved those chairs and wanted to make sure we brought them with us when we moved.
These are great when you want to enjoy a nice outdoor fire pit and relax. We have 5 chairs total, but decided to place 3 by the BBQ area and the other 2 by the pool.
I like how all of the furniture, even though different styles, go well together since they are neutral colors. It might seem a little boring, but you can always accessorize and add color with cushions.
But perhaps the most important addition to our backyard area was the above ground pool with a salt water pool filtration system. The kids really needed a place to hang out and an activity to enjoy. They all love the water and with the hot summer months, it just seemed like the most appropriate way to cool off and enjoy the outdoors.
We upgraded to the salt water system because it’s much better for our skin and hair and the less we expose ourselves to chemicals like chlorine, the healthier we stay. We had one in our last pool and we loved it so much, we wanted it for this pool as well. Our skin stays soft and doesn’t smell like chlorine when we come out.
We find that it does just as good a job in maintaining the pool nice and clean with minimal maintenance.
As of right now, we aren’t doing anymore landscaping. We are happy with the planters that we have, and even though we have areas that could use plantings and grass to fill in areas where we dug up, we are at a stopping point.
I am glad to say that I have managed to keep my annuals alive so far so that’s good.
We have just run out of time this summer for anymore outdoor projects, since our main focus now is the tiny home/YouTube studio. Nelson has been working on the electrical and we hope to have it finished in time for the baby’s arrival.
